Tbh these games with huge army counts & maps are not decided by strategic fighting and delay moves, they're decided b/c of people getting booted & surrendering, people teaming up and eventually 1 player having a significant income margin over others
The "strategy" is the maneuvering & scheming to get territories, not in the smaller fights like they are in S1v1/small maps, etc, and typically by the time enemies meet, there's already a 3-5x army income gap and it's just a matter of whether everyone gangs up on the leader, if they surrender, or if they force the big baddie to play it out and smite them
But as I said, these games aren't for everyone; I used to play a bunch of them, but I've lost interest over time in favour of the more strategic templates
But yea, they can take a LOOOOOOOONG time to play a single move b/c you have to make a few hundred orders sometimes
