I'm starting a haiku club at the cafe!

Haiku can be about anything and everything.

I'll start:

Haiku are kickass
But sometimes I write them with
too many syllables

What is a haiku?
Could you explain how to do.
That would be awsome.

The word fire when used
Is one syllable not two
Err in your haiku

Five syllable start
Seven syllable-middle
And five at the end

That is senryū
haiku has certain words and
is about nature

"My house is on fir"
Nobody says it like that
the word is fi-re

The e in fire is silent
Thus one syllable

Show me an instance
in which someone pronounces
one syllable fi....

errrrr... I ran out of
room in my haiku because
"fire" has two parts

On clouds I pass by
The eagle soars high above
Sharing wind and dreams

Luna in my sight
Helios in my vision
Lighting the way home

Leaf falls quietly
Slowly approaching the ground
Earth accepts the gift

Stars dot the dark sky
A comet slices a path
Night in full splendor

It is getting late

Insomnias fault
