Opti fruitlessly debase themselves. 3rd place battle over? New protagonists introduced!



Myth Busters vs Optimum
MB - 24 wins (-4 rating)
Opti - 25 wins (+57 rating)

Opti start strong, with an 11 man Guiroma swarm on the 3rd slot, they successfully hunt noobs. Finishing the first half with 18/20 win and for the first time since Day 6, Opti overtake MB in rating. But with only 10 games in the second half, they tie their worst day this season in terms of participation and only gain 1 win on MB, even though MB’s rating dropped today.

MB’s favourite template switched back to S1v1 after their own 8 man swarm on the 4th slot.

Knyte vs Prime
Knyte - 10 wins (-40 rating)
Prime - 13 wins (-4 rating)

Knyte had their most played games in 4 days. Still lacklustre compared to early in the season. They only won 10 games. Their second worst this season.

Prime had their worst day in participation and second worst in wins, though not as bad as Knytes, they extend their lead by 3.

If Knyte lose to Prime on days like this, it’s safe to call it. It’s over. Prime take 3rd. Knyte take 4th. I’m closing this segment for the rest of the season.

When it comes to 1 off perfect seasons, there have only been 10 by 8 different players. Of the above list, only 2 of them are apart of the club. That would be Johnny last season and Matutake the season before that.

It’s good to see Traitor doing well. A regular in Global Chat. A little bit of a weirdo, but then so is everyone in GC. Traitor considers himself to be a “Jack of all trades, master of none.” He’s won on 4 templates this season, beating MB on 2 of them. His only loss was to Johnny on CommLD on the second day of the season.

For Fun, the reigning seasonal ladder champion, was 1 off going into the day. Unfortunately, he lost today on French Brawl vs some random Irish bloke from a random clan called USSR.

Opti?! Opti?! … Hey you! Have you seen Opti? I can’t find them anywhere. 27 games played? That’s their worst showing this season. They picked up 3 free wins today.

Opti chose the wrong day to go AWOL as MB have an outstanding day. Just like on Day 8, they have as many wins as Opti’s total games. They went perfect through the first 4 slots, winning their first 13 games.

14/29 is a slightly below average day for Prime. 3 games below, 2 wins below. -3 rating.

15/28 is an average day for Knyte. Average games. Average wins. Average members with average personalities. Rating went up by 16 points.

8/21 for Harmony. Single digits again. Participation low. But a rise of 5 clan rating means we probably faced difficult opponents today. Yep. Just counted. 8 players went up against MB/Opti.

Below average day for MH. LFA have 1 more win than them and tie it at the top of the race for 6th.

TLA have a bad day winning 1 out of 10. Mothership, who are in 10th, close the gap to them by 5 wins. The gap is still 8 wins, though. They have a lot of work to do if they want to gain a single position.

Traitor kills a noob playing his 2nd CW game. He took to GC to brag about it too. He has no shame.

Matutake faces Veravari, the antihero, and destroys him with perfect play.

Karlstadt (Knyte) is our only loser today. Everybody laugh at him! Ha ha ha! Actually, now that I look at his game, maybe that’s a little insensitive. Karl faced an Opti Bomb God in Smahik. Smahik is 4th all time in total CW wins on Combomb. Karl had the whole map on lockdown, but Smahik had a nasty surprise. He had saved up 3 reinforcement cards and a bomb, waiting until he had order priority to kill Karl’s commander with a crazy comeback combo.

a mistake can happen, nothing to be worry about. Against opt im not doing that bad :)

Myth Busters vs Optimum
MB - 43 wins (-11 rating)
Opti - 35 wins (+23 rating)

Playing just 24 games on Day 15, it seems like Opti finally throw in the towel. If they didn’t, I’d have done so for them. There’s no way they can win now. The gap is just too big, their opponents too fierce and the time left too little. It’s 2nd for them again this season.

MB fend off the biggest threat they’ve had for a while. We will have to see if they drop off now that the threat is gone, but if they finish the season with their current wins per day, it’ll be their best performance EVER!

3rd to 5th
Prime win 13/28 yesterday and 14/32 today. The gap is not wide enough to Knyte for them to start sandbagging their rating, as they have done in previous seasons when the gap is large enough. Prime’s rating: -30

Knyte win 11/28 yesterday and 16/30 today. Their rating: -18

Harmony win 12/22 yesterday and 13/23 today. Their rating: +47

Below par performances for all midfield clans on the first day.

On the second day Le Furie Azzure pull ahead of the rest, winning 8 out of 10 today and creating a gap of 6 wins to MH.

Interestingly, all the gaps from 6th to 11th are somewhat equidistant. Ranging between 6-8 wins.

Others
In 12th, outside of the midfield battle, Good News have their best day this season. Farming 3 free wins, but then also winning 4/4 games naturally.

Polish Eagles also have their best day this season, winning 6/8. They’re in 13th.

Battle Wolves and Italia CM had good days yesterday.

Johnny sticks with his specialty of CommLD. He’s played it the last 26 days straight. He is still 1 off perfect. He beat Hatter (FDC) yesterday and nickpugs3 (Opti) today. If he keeps this up for a couple more days, he will become the first player in CW history to finish 1 off perfect for 2 seasons in a row.

Octane had a very nice fight with Cosine Malady (Prime) on French Brawl. Cosine took a +7 on T4 and took the advantage. Octane turned it around with some nice predictions. He then beat Alarich (MB) on S1v1.

Traitor crushes a CW newbie in 2 turns on French Brawl. Then consulted Dr_Rob (Prime) on Cancer.

Matutake faces an average player on SE1W. He plays poorly and still wins. He then won another, which should have been a classic coin filp Europe break, but Babydalorian (Knyte) never got the memo that double defending is bad, so ‘Take never even needed to guess.

On Day 15, Jacob lost to awesomeusername of MB on Cancer. He cluster picked Russia and came to regret the decision in the long term as Sam could easily chain together some breaks.

No chart or top 5 info today. I’ll combine the chart tomorrow and the top 5 had boring, average days. I’m just updating you on the Mid Battle and the Perfectionists.

Midfield Battle

LFA had an outstanding day today. They won 9/13.
MH only won 6/9.
LFA’s lead is now 9. Big swing can happen in the midfield, so it’s not yet over. MH need to pull finger though.

All other clans had equal days today. All a tad above average. No changes.

Matutake got a boot win.

Johnny always wants to play CommLD. He’s played it the last 26 days, winning 24 of them. He had a chance on the 1st and 5th slot, but must have been unable to play and passed. On the 6th slot there was no CommLD so he had to make a choice.
His choice: Combomb.
His opponent: Geforce, Harmony’s resident Combomb king.
The result: He’s still 1 off perfect!

Traitor beats up a Spartan called “Adrian D’Agostino” on Combomb. Adrian is 25% in CW. No match for Traitor, who is in some fine form, but also getting some good luck with matchups.

And in a weird twist of fate, our early season protagonist, Old Nick, shows up today. As we know, Old Nick is a S1v1 specialist. He faced Octane, the current #1 on the 1v1 ladder… on SEAD! And won!

With Octane’s loss. That means 3 remain. The S30 1 off perfect player. The S29 1 off perfect player. And just plain ol’ Traitor.

Just 3-4 days until the season’s end. Can Traitor become the 9th player in CW history to join the 1 off perfection club? Only Norme and FleXUS have achieved it twice. Can ‘Take and Johnny be added to that short list? Can Johnny become the first player to achieve the feat in back to back seasons? Stick around for tomorrow’s edition for more updates.

Traitor went brawling in France and met a Gunslinger. “The Gunslinger” from GG. Traitor’s scrawny biceps couldn’t hold a candle to Slinger’s guns and he takes his second loss this season, with barely a handful of days left to play.

The man responsible for Traitor’s first loss, Johnny, had a relatively easy opponent. He played Otomano from the clan Undisputed. He left it to the last slot again and got lucky, as CommLD showed up for him. I’m not baiting something here. Johnny won. Congrats to him.

Matutake plays Le Nguyen, the Vietnamese Dragon. He loses the Peru coin flip, then becomes a slippery eel. Playing brilliantly to stage a truly incredible comeback. Though it must be said, Nguyen simply played awful. I am not being melodramatic or over-exaggerating when I say, I have never seen a Myth Buster play worse. He played like a noob with no concept of move order or optimal defensive numbers.
