waffle has the idea - no problem with having 2 ladders, a fast (1 day) and a slow one (3 days)

I've seen other gaming sites do this successfully, gives folks who want a quick pace an option while not forcing the rest into rushed games

Even here (a thread literally created to criticise Fizzer's new boot time proposition) I saw only 4 people, happy with 3-day boot time (Waffle, καλλιστηι, Torsten, HangFire). I also believe Fizzer's proposition is too quick but it doesn't mean I like 3-day boot time.

As I see it, people in general wants Roi's proposition (1-day regular + 2-day banked + 12hr refresh). But even that shouldn't be 90%

count me as another with the opinion that 1-day boot is too fast. 36-hour even would be better than 24 hrs for 1v1. for team ladders more time is needed. often we have to deal with people being in different time zones to communicate. 2 days for 1v1, 3 for teams would be my vote.

Yeah, cause everyone is so accustomed to 3 day boot they dont feel the need to announce it on a forum. In you case happen to be counting, you can +1 for me as well ;)

That being said, people dont voice their opinion if they are satisfied with the current situation.
Hence why you always only see complains on various forums wether it is this game or any other.
And in general if you ask any good player they would tell yo 3days any day of the week.
You might be able to argue with them being fine with 2 days but no one will be ok with 1 day.
Infact i know a lot of people who straight up wouldnt play with 1day boots.

Seriously though, I agree that the quality of gameplay would dump spectacularly if the boot time became 1 day. I am confident that this is not what Fizzer wants, because he mentioned repeatedly in his blog post that ladders are intended to feature the highest level of play.

I would also like to voice my opinion against 1-day boots. That really sounds like a chore, and I like to be able to take days off if IRL stuff comes up.

I'm not against 1 day ladders if people want them; I probably wouldn't join, for me it's a boot waiting to happen; it may come on T1, maybe T7, maybe T11, and I may even make it through an entire game every now and then, but would estimate that (for me) I'd boot in 75% of my games that go past T10, and likely 25-30% of the rest, and even if I'm not booting, going back to alex's points, I'd be rushing my moves and lowering my skill rate along with it (as in even lower than my already low skill rate, so down from 'noob' to 'total noob')

if Bayern's RR 36h boot time SE tourneys are any gauge, I feel pretty rushed on those, and I boot 1 game in every 3 tourney or so, and this most recent tourney I had a busy day at work and actually booted in all 16 games on the same day (ack!)

Looks like there are more 3-day lovers than I initially anticipated. Thanks for all the information, these responses should be useful for everyone (including Fizzer). While I'm still sceptical about the 90% (since its unrealistically high ratio and even the 3-day supporters here is not even close to 90%), I'm starting to think most people like 3-day even if they're playing against stallers.

I personally don't like people delay the game 3-days every turn just to make 1 move, so I still would like to promote Roi's proposition on boot times which is;

1-day regular + 2-day banked + 12hr/day refresh

PS: I know I wrote that before, but I'll write as much as possible for Fizzer to see it :P

Look VERAVARI, over the years I have heard many complaints about the ladder and participated with great joy in those discussions as well. I heard many things, but one thing I never heard is that a 3d boot timer is too much. I am relatively sure most of the "old" players don't want a change here. For some it might not be a terrible change, but also for sure not one that improves their experience.

Also: two ladders for 1d boot and for 3d boot is a really bad idea

If you really mean it, just start reading thread posts

Only thing I currently didn't saw is people who said "1-day boot timer is perfect". We all seem to agree that it shouldn't be that short, but it doesn't mean everybody loves 3-day boot...
