As of 2 years ago, they no longer had a choice after they chose to join ERM II.

@ Phulesdorp, that's not put ERM II is. ERM II is the Exchange Rate Mechanism where the local currency of an EU member state has an exchange rate fixed to the euro temporarily until they adopt the euro.

Yeah, just found out about it. When I was in economics, we just referred to it as ERM, so I had no idea that ERM II happened.

For a first, I have to agree with a wolf. Without Greece (Spain Portugal Ireland and Italy), the EU would be fine

Barely any, UK holds more than half. All together, EU holds less than Brazil. But oil is not key; just look at Azerbaijan.
