Currently working on a map that requires a single territory to have non-connected parts, and thus, I was wondering is there is any way to combine them in a manner that will make warlight accept the action.

For those curious I am working on a map of the Holy Roman Empire as shown:

Group them to make them one territory. It is definitely allowed as many people, myself included, have made maps with small islands connected to larger territories.

SVG groups cannot be assigned Territory_ identifiers. This SVG file has at least one group (a 'g' node) that has an ID starting with Territory_. In Inkscape, you can fix this by right-clicking the offending territory and selecting 'Ungroup'. An easy way to find this is via Inkscape's XML Editor. Please post on the forums if you need more help.

I am likely missing something very simple then as I have limited experience with Inkscape.

Then use merge, not group. It is definitely possible to do it, it's just been far too long for me to recall details and I no longer have the SVGs or Inkscape installed.

Edit: Try compound path (Ctrl-K). I recall using that a lot and it may be what you need.

It's not grouping, it's merging. Ctrl+shift+= is what you need.

ctrl+k works splendidly and finally I can make progress again.

Lol, I've made most of that map already. Though I haven't worked on it for sometime and not sure if it will be published.

Would you mind showing me what you have? If it is too similar to what I had envisioned I'll likely abandon the project.
