This mad scheme was devised by me about five minutes ago. I'll be figuring it out as I type, so bear with me:



You apply to be a 'Pokemon trainer' on this thread. Anyone who has not become a trainer is a Pokemon* until they apply. Also on this thread, you announce you have captured a Pokemon! To do this, you must win a 1v1 match against that player, and post it alongside the announced capture. Once you have captured that Pokemon, it is yours to summon in 1v1 fights (fighting for you), team matches, etc, and it is your job to 'train' your Pokemon and keep track of its winning statistics in games that it fights for/with you.

But wait, you might ask! Do I need to get permission before stuffing a random top 1v1 player into a Pokeball and calling him mine? No, of course not**! Capturing Pokemon never had to be a voluntary act on the show, so I see no reason why it should be here. You must quickly apply to be a Pokemon trainer before anyone can enslave you!

This probably won't catch on. And I probably won't regulate it at all. But it is hilarious.


*Also noteworthy, you can't become a Pokemon trainer once captured. The only reason is 'because I said so'.

**You might want to tell that you've enslaved them, however.

Master Bjarke does raise an interesting point. How do badges work? Are high level pokemons allowed to disobey and rebel against their trainers? But also can pokemon be traded between players? Can I create the Team Rocket and steal other pokemons? So many questions...so few answers...

I propose this idea:

Trainers that capture 6 pokémons can choose to become a Gym Leader. There can be a total of 8 Gym Leaders.
The main job of a Gym Leader is to test Trainers and their Pokémon if they are strong and resourceful enough to compete in the Pokémon League.

First Gym Leader that can win 10 fights in a row can choose to set up Team Rocket, and at the same time stay Gym Leader. As boss he can not steal pokémon from other trainers, but he can choose 2 willing trainers to become Team Rocket members. they are able to steal pokémons from trainers for him.
