This is more just sharing my feelings on the new ladder. I will add a few suggestions, but nothing I can add will be as in depth as AI I would guess. That being said, here we go.

1v1 ladder - Great!

Team Ladders - Not great! So basically in team ladders if you play solo you are matched with low elo opponents. This is unfair. If you are competing in the ladder by yourself you will be at a huge disadvantage. Also there needs to be ladder guidelines. When you are playing in a competitive scene it is important to

SPEAK ENGLISH
DISCUSS WITH PARTNER
MAKE TURNS IN REASONABLE TIMES
MATCH PEOPLE IN SIMILAR TIMEZONES

and the list can go on and on, but basically, i felt completely discriminated against after being forced to play with incompetent players who probably use their fingers to do warzone math :) makes 0 sense, it would be way more exciting if I got matched up with randomly people my skill level to increase the average elo of all players (for a better or more competitive game, which is what one expects from ladder)

P.S. It would be really nice to have a "mirror" button. This is a phrase coined by Warlighters and Warzoners, and what every competitive team player employs. Having a button to make this automatic would not only help the seamlessness but also a way for the community to shine in the actual game.

Also people would like a poll on the new boot times because they are ridiculous for team ladders (and the 1v1 ladder imo)

Do you want a poll just for the sake of voting, but knowing it doesnt matter?

I think it will matter; the fact that he is creating Polls means he wants to hear opinions, and he called this one out him explicitly in the context of thinking the community wants quicker boot times

And to his credit, some do, some have spoken up to justify these boot times, the question becomes: how much of the community likes it at current settings and how much prefer it @ 3 days?

If it ends up 50/50, then yea likely nothing will change

But 20/80 could see some change imho

Team Ladder, Seasonal Ladder and 1v1 Ladder should have at least 2 days. Multiple time zones, serious thinking about next move, ... It takes more than a minute. Especially at working days (not an office worker) and other real life occupations.

And WHY is Vacation NOT HONORED? IF there is a chance you need those Vacation days, it's when the boottimer is shorter than usually!

I think the simplest option is just to change the current “delay” setting to an “increment” setting. Said another way, you would still get 36 hours for each move but any unused time would “refill” the banked time.

This proposed change is equivalent at solving the stalling issues that infected the old ladder and necessitated the change in the first place. With my proposed “increment” change, a sufficiently motivated staller would still only be able to stall 36 hours per move - exactly the same they can with the current “delay” settings and half as much as they could with the old ladder settings.

The main benefit is for team ladders however. If you can coordinate to get together at least once every 3 days, you can make two moves and completely refill your clock (there would be a maximum time of 3 days).

@Tacky: I don’t think it’s reasonable to expect random opponents to speak English. The “link” option in the in-game-chat is an extremely clever implementation which allows for effective international communication in my experience. If you need more than this, pair up with someone who you know to be an English speaker and play your games with them.

it is completely reasonable to expect ppl to speak english on this game. just like it would be reasonable for me to speak chinese if i were to play some chinese game. that being said, i understand why not everyone speaks english and wouldnt fault anyone, and that is why matching timezones is important. but yea, speaking english is an important tool for competitive warzone play and should be required so

at least match the low rated ppl with other low rated ppl, or ppl who dont speak with others who dont speak. its unfair otherwise cos im dumb and only speak one language. i can use google translate maybe?
