It's cool, but... personally, I'm not a fan of 1 spot bonuses, especially when they are so varied. It seems like the Imperial area is overpowered considering it is defendable from 1 location *Imperial Track 07* and the entire island is defendable from only 2 spots, albiet it would be more difficult to capture the entire thing.
I like the starting location choices, but imho it works better as either a scenario type, or a automatic distribution.
Am questionable about some of the connections, just finished a game, and some of the crossroads felt like they should of connected at different spots, or more.
Example being
Imperial Path - Imperial Track 6
Hideout path - Last Path 2
Just my honest 2 cents.

- I've improved looks and feels *yay*
- added some additional paths
- Removed the Leviathan's Deep & Kraken's Lair vortexes
- Reduced the building bonus income by 1
- added some eye-candy.
