I'm supposing that the you-don't-actually-get-booted-when-your-timer-runs-out-the-first-time rule is there to be nice to noobs, like the eyesore that is the yellow box around the minimum-necessary force to capture a territory. (This is beyond patronizing from my perspective, but there we are. It's also a disincentive to use one's brain, but that's another post).
I just want to point out that it's a double-edged sword. I just pushed a player from a top clan to run out of time in CW, but he didn't lose. This effectively means I have to win twice in order to win once. It robbed my clan of a much-needed win, and myself of a hard-earned scalp. How is this fair?
I'm writing this because, obviously, I'm pissed off.
That is all.

Auto-commit plays any orders that are already on the board when the boot timer hits 0. It has been a feature of the game for years.

Well, The Mullet Guy, if you win with partially completed orders, you would deserve the win. And if you lose with your opponents partially completed orders, you deserve the loss. I do understand where you are coming from but the orders committing at 0 make more sense in the bigger picture.

Plus, the yellow box is a good thing. It was a while before I learned kill ratios, and for a new player it may be a while before they remember it. Also, when there are non-default kill rates, those are kinda helpful if you have multiple multi-day games, since otherwise you have to remember specific rates for different games

If you like the yellow box, good for you. I don't like it. Tough luck for me, right?

I see your point re. partially completed orders, but my feeling is more all-or-nothing. I'd rather be booted than drag through a messed-up game where I didn't put my idea into practice. It's another personal preference.

"you-don't-actually-get-booted-when-your-timer-runs-out-the-first-time" suggests you don't. You can repeatedly autocommit. Hence why I felt the need to explain.

The way I see it auto-commit is a good feature. The boot timer is there to make sure people enter their orders in a timely manner and don't stall/ just walk away from the game. It's not supposed to be there to promote flagging.
