my opinion is there probably should be an option to turn off chat... just in case you just don't want to chat and don't want to look at chat or anything. global chat raffles can exist with all chat blocked except rafflebot. or there could be a limited sort of chat where gg and wp are on buttons (like in lichess)

Not really possible by userscript. Games open in a new 'scene'. Tracking the 'scenes' is very difficult. Interacting with ujs ui is also a pain. In short would have to reload the page if you want to guarantee userscript implementation to work.

as an intermediate solution you can just put that specific player on your BL, none of his texts in chat will be shown unless you want to read a specific message, then you can just click on it.

That way you don't have the toxicity, but still see what others have to say in larger games

If you wanted to remove any and all chat, you can use something like

document.body.querySelector("[id='ujs_Chat']")?.parentNode.parentNode.remove()

but that actually removes all chat, not just the public chat

tho if there is enough interested, someone (might even be me) can put in the time to add some better filtering for selecting which chat windows should be allowed
