Most of the British Commonwealth play a game called "rugby", which is very similar. There is also another game called "aussie rules", which is played in australia.

I don't think Americans hate soccer, their just not very good at it. American football looks interesting, however English football is far superior. Rugby is better than American football also.

We, Europeans, don't hate football. We just hate calling "football" a game, in which mostly hands are used. In football (world's football, not american) players need to use legs (sometimes heads) and only one player in each team is able to use his hands to touch the ball. That's why it's called football. I think "american football*" should be called "american handball" and that would be ok. Furthermore, rugby is better because it's more interesting than in american football, where every action lasts for maybe 10 seconds and then you need to watch 30 seconds of ads.
*Yes, it has to be "american hanball", because "handball" exists already. I remember a women handball game between Poland's and the USA's national teams. It was funny. The best American player was a poor little girl (about 15 years old) who started to cry when Polish player hit her. Dudes, girls from my high school could play better and it was a national teams game :)

but yeah. I think that's called European Handball in Australia. Kinda like tennis, foursquare is. Except using hands, the court is smaller and if it lands on a line the umpire doesn't get a facefull.

My dad made me read a book on John McEnroe... You know how you used to get told off for complaining about umpires even a tiny, tiny bit when you went to school sports (you do these days anyway)? Well, someone should have told him that.

Another thing I don't get is the representation of a football as an egg. It used to be made out of an inflated pig bladder with a leather cover, that's why we called it pigskin.
