But more specifically ... you have to pay enough to outweigh the coins that the skilled players are winning off the players who buy the coins (or win through wheel/raffles). And you'd be best to do the coin buying/gambling late in the season to prevent the scenario where you buy lots of coins, then lose lots of coins either directly to those skilled players or to other players who thereafter lose to those skilled player thus indirectly going to the skilled players, resulting in essentially buying coins that go onto the "coins won" stats of those skilled players that you set out to top in the leaderboard by means of buying coins, thus requiring you to buy even more coins to overcome the gap you just widened for yourself

Those players often play coin games of 1000+ so for a weaker player only gambling 10-100 per game, it takes a lot of games to equal that, and if you jump right to gambling 1000+ coins, you best choose your opponent carefully and not post it to open games, else it'll be those players you're trying to beat in the leaderboards that will join and swipe your coins from you, in which case go re-read the previous paragraph

if you buy a bunch of coins and trade them back and forth between two of your accounts, you get roughly 17*coins bought in "winnings" before they re all gone. The "winnings" would be divided between you and your alt, so roughly 8.5 times per account. So if you need 40k to win a season, you ll need to pay 50$ to our boi fizzer.
This may sound like a waste of money, but you would get an amazing shiny trophy to your profile which shall forever remind you of how dumb you are.

In practice, i dont think its pay to win, but if you are at a certain lvl where you dont always lose all your coins, its more grind to win.
Theoretically you dont need to many 1k+ coin games to get to a decent amount of winnings, but in practice nobody ever joins those when you create them, and when somebody joins after 2 hours you have long forgotten that you created that game and get booted.

Seems to me the easiest way is to cheat with a couple of ALTs and pass those coin back and forth to the main account.

Why use alts when you can just use friends?

Bought coins & wheel spins & raffle coins don't count towards Leaderboard, these coins are simply the fodder with which to make bets on coin games. No coins = no coin games. So if you can't earn lots of coins by winning games (ie: get on the Leaderboard by skill through winning coin games) and you opt to p2w, then you need to buy coins in order to fund your coin games.

Rufus has won 5 of the last 10 so I'm going to say no. I think a large pot of coins is a prerequisite to win, but you'll need to beat out other people who have huge shares of coins and a lot of those are very very good players.
