Can anyone recommend a balance on the card set up where the card will be awarded to players at a rate of roughly every 8 to 10 turns?

We are trying to bleed airlifts and gifts in so they are rare within the game economy (having previously had it so you start with the all of those two card types you'll have for the whole game) and I am trying to avoid having to spend time testing different set ups.

We will also have surveillance and order priority that occur more commonly.

Any advice welcome on how best to achieve a balance.

If you want random cards (you give more pieces than is sum of minimum pieces awarded per turn across every used card), set it to 0 to prevent players getting more than 1/8 of airlift card/ turn. If you don't use random cards, it does not matter.

If you want some cards more common then others you might consider to use the option Card weight (how common the card is)

For example if you put the card weight for airlift cards on 1 and for gift card on 2 and order priority card on 3 and for surveillance card on 4 you get the following result/chanches when receiving a piece of a card:
Airlift: 10% chanche you get a piece of this card
Gift card: 20% chanche
Order priority card: 30% chanche
Surveillance card 40% chanche

The number is alway relative to the other cards, for example, if you enter 0.1, 0.2, 0.3 and 0.4 instead of 1,2,3,4 the chanches remain the same.

Do not use minimum x piece/turn option for a card, because then it won't work

wow, this is interesting and explains card mechanics far better than the wiki, thanks

card minimums:
"if the game awards 7 pieces each turn, and the spy card minimum is set to 2 and the reinforcement card minimum is set to 2, then 4 pieces will always be the same and the remaining 3 will be randomed as usual per their weights." (wiki)
