like a FB ladder for example.

Wazone.com -> Multi-Player -> Quickmatch -> Leaderboards -> press the "Global" button -> French Brawl ???

Quickmatch could easily serve as a single-template ladder with just a few simple tweaks to its rating system, but as it stands the leaderboards are complete nonsense.
But tbh it's a running theme on this website. Which is why we need community ladders if we want it done properly.

The leaderboards on your CW page are already more meaningful than all Fizzer's attempts at a real-time ladder or the QM leaderboard. Big thanks for that.

As I have build a ladder for my clan, I also looked briefly into CLOT but it just contained a lot of stuff which I was not at all interested in and seemed to restrict me in ways I did not like. However maybe I was missing something, I only looked over it relatively briefly and decided quite quickly that the API contained all I wanted.

So what is the advantage over using the CLOT (I assume https://github.com/FizzerWL/CLOT) over just the simple plain REST APIs? https://www.warzone.com/wiki/API

Clots still rely on the warzone api. As far as I'm aware, the main difference is in just having users authenticate to the site itself and manage/join whatever ladders or events the clot is for. The api requests would be sent using the credentials of the owner of the clot instead of the user.

Fizzer's github repo is just an example and starter clot.

The CLOT framework is the collection of APIs (create game, query game, etc.).

I can have a look but I have no experience with communicating with databases and Python isn’t my strongest language.

I’ll play with the example but no guarantee on how long it’ll take to make/test.

Any ideas for the site name?
Should rating be plain ELO?
Which templates do you want the CLOT for?

I have to agree with Rufus and Alex, there are too few players to split the only successful community ladder.

@Tacky It’s nice that people like you are willing to put time and money into new things like this, but in my opinion it would be better to make more players aware of the MTL when it’s back online.

The issue is MTL has been online only half the time, because trust me, I’ve been trying to get people to play :) lol

Would be great to bring MTL back online, and feasible, if that’s what people want

May, please, anyone kindly make me aware of when MTL is expected to be back online?

Why not merge the functionality of MTL into -B's CLOT?

@Tac(ky)tical: What are you more specifically trying to build? I mean what is the audience?

Plus I don't understand why people not just make their code public?

The audience is for my clan members and friends personally, but it goes beyond that. MTL is the greatest source of content on Warzone, and it helps people get better at the game. Ideally we want a few hundred people on the ladder, and make it appeal not just to the elite but everyone. The more the merrier, and overtime people will improve. It’s a boon to our culture here, and sad when unavailable. So basically even if the audience is smaller it has the biggest impact on the website (if that makes sense)

They either don’t have access to the code or they want to get paid for it. To be fair it is labor, but would be nice if it was made public or atleast shared in private. *shrug*

There are lots of issues with old code, and this code is almost 10 years old. It’s best to make new code anyway I think, like 5s said, so it doesn’t make a huge difference maybe

The example runs with Python 2 and that's discontinued and Python 3 made braking changes.

Nobody is getting payed. Also even from a purely egoistical viewpoint, an active GitHub repository is something which looks very good to potential employers. Especially if someone is self taught then that's almost the only realistic way to get into the industry.

Ah makes sense. To be clear, I don’t know what the issue is but have been told it will be back up with time. Maybe they don’t want two websites running at the same time? Two is better than 0 ;)
