So that's 4036 accounts created or invited in October 2023, an account growth rate of ~130/day.

Might as well check games/day as well. There's been ~1.6MM games between mid-May and the end of October; that's about 9.5k games/day. That's about the same activity level as this time in 2021. So it doesn't look like this game's in significantly worse shape than it was two years ago.

No idea how much of those accounts are still active or how long an account is used for before being deleted. Some people are constantly deleting then recreating their account. Some people also make lots of alts. To know for sure how long accounts are active for, you'd have to check every account ever created, and of them only non-deleted can be used. Having the non-deleted bias may give an inaccurate reflection of how long an account remains active. You can't draw anything conclusive from number of players, only suggestive.

Games created per day is a much better reflection because I'd expect most games to be created from QM. QM also automatically puts you in MD games the first time you visit the QM page (a lot of players don't know how to opt out - probably because of not checking "invite me to multi-day games" in the first place - no matter how clear text makes it). It's unclear how many games are from the same players. Some people are super active while others in a more manageable amount of games.

at least the games per day got more. Seems the few players still around make a good job manipulating that graph.

How do we explain the death of the forums

The forums aren’t dead. There’s always been a constant low amount of activity. When there’s something very notable like (like the ladder refresh or the clan wars scandal) there’s lots of different participants.

Chances are people don’t know about the forum because of only playing games and not checking any other pages. Some people probably only stick to their clan’s forum.

There are various discord servers (https://www.warzone.com/Forum/592712-warzone-discord-directory). Some may prefer using them instead of forum.

The amount of trash increased since Discord.

Only OT died and that's mostly because the rules changed and the spicier conversation moved to Discord.

Fizzer does usually go on a hiatus during the summer then releases a major update around this time
