Which would be better for first super ascension?

Or

I would go for the 1st option, but I think both are very capable combos

I think the 1st prepares better for the 2nd super: you can likely get the sac to leg AND add another 25% AP

I think it also depends a lot on timing.

Cause option 1 would require 5 legendary artifacts while option 2 only requires 3.

I dont know how many of these you already have, but it might change things.

When I unlocked my super ascension, I only needed 3 more epics to go for a insane + legend + 25% AP combo, so I grinded some more digs and went with that.

I think I am short for an insane for #1. Would need 5 legends and i only have enough for the 3. Still short about 8 epics. (6 months-ish?)

How close are you (timewise) to superascending? If you only have enough for three legendaries then that would be 11 epics short of the plan in #1, so it sounds like you have 3 epics to spare. With faster digger maxed and hardened China, 8 epics would be 150 days. With efficient use of an epic time walk that would go down to 134 days, but it's not going to get much faster than that without clan bonuses (if there are any that apply) or burning time warp powers.

Then there's the 5 days to turn the epics into legendaries, and the 10 days at the start of the superascension while you wait for the insane to complete.

Idle battle has two epics you could get, if you haven't already. If you're deep in stage four you should be able to do well enough to pick those up; at 600 BP a day (20 fourth places or better per day) that would be around 43 days to get to the 25600 for the BP epic, and you'd expect to get lucky enough for a first place in the meantime. If you've already got the BP epic then you could push through for legend but that would take 128 days at the same rate so wouldn't really save time. It would, however, probably let you take an insane and a legendary instead of insane and epic.

Like Otto, I think both options are fine (and I also lean to the first). It's really about how much wastage of artifacts there would be (if going for #2) vs how much essentially dead time (if going for #1).

I have gotten the available epics for battle and hardened levels. Looks like I would be on the hard grind for the 4-5 months if wanting to go #1... boo...

That seems a pretty clear-cut case for going with option number 2, then. You're only losing three epics by the sounds of it, which you'd make up again easily with the SuperAscension (two from WZIB, one from HCCC). And then you'd also be playing the game instead of just going through the motions.

On the other hand, maybe you'd prefer to put the game on effective hiatus for five months and treat it as an actual idle game. :) That can be freeing in its way.
