I knew it for a different reason.
When skipping through turns I realized Rufus didn't take Chalcis-Eretrea-Cym turn 2, which he would have done if you didn't tap off the army.
And that's why it was very important to tap it off also, you delayed him taking this important center bonus.

So yes, the T1 move order is telling it but I would not have needed it.

I don't feel bad at all now that I have a win

Alex I agree with you that Rufus is likely the best of all time. Buns and Beep are definitely up there too. I'd like to see them do a best of as well! I know there's plenty people I could be missing out on, but GiantFrog is a brilliant player too but he mainly plays casually now.
I'm also curious how Deadman or MoD would perform if they were still around?

I think Octane is also a pretty good player. He joins my coin tournaments and seems to do pretty well in all of them.
