haha i like Ottoman Emperor idea xD

who was used to make WGL has no longer time to put effort for WGL.
We lack of ppl to host stream already in the last time we make WGL, and after WGl #100 nobody show up to continue to host the tournament.

So, answering to your question, no, WGL seems is not going to return.

I don't mind doing it again, the problem is my schedule is much different now. My weekends are stacked while I could probably do it on weekdays. The problem is, the quality of what I was able to do before would be significantly different. I have a laptop and no microphone outside of the laptop's internal microphone. My internet is pretty good, but the quality of the stream would be down and you'd hear me typing, clicking, and the internal sounds of the laptop.

If anyone has a computer/internet capable of streaming properly, just let me know. I can set up the WGL account to work for anyone and help set up commentators. Hosting is a bit difficult but I can help teach how to do it.

If we could skim off of coin tournaments as a source of payment, assuming Fizzer makes coin tournaments.. my schedule might just suddenly open up and the inconvenience of tracking down a microphone and better computer I could borrow might be a bit easier to do >.>

I thought my post worked earlier but seemingly not...

Fizzer should pay streamers in coins! A new moba on iOS called Vainglory does this, and it has resulted in there being around 5 twitch streams at any given time. The creators also do a weekly stream. Contact with the community is essential and it's something Fizzer definitely does not do well enough.

It's kind of a silly idea. Warlight isn't as streamable as a MOBA because there's less action going on. It makes doing a show very difficult. I don't think from a marketing point of view that Warlight will ever be a game that 200,000 people sit down to WATCH be played on stream. (Do chess tournaments get streamed with this amount of watchers?)

It makes sense for the MOBA to do it because if they get a big enough following then they can do cash tournaments and generate sponsorships etc.

Warlight can have streamed events and be fun for the community, but I doubt you'll ever see Timinator sporting a monster energy jacket while having a camera in his face thinking about his next move in a Strat ME tournament..

Though if you pay me enough money, I could use this to bribe Timinator into doing such.

He'd probably look dashing in a monster energy jacket.

Yes they do, however chess have way more players then WarZONE has at this point making the comparison difficult.

lol, hosting the tournament is the least of my worries. Need a host for the stream itself.

@TBest: Well that's pretty interesting. Warzone would have to be pretty big to reach that point..

Mercer and I have been talking about some features to make Twitch work better with WarLight. For one thing, I think games need to advance much more quickly if someone is going to stream themselves playing a multi-player game, which might call for some sort of speed-game setting. And we may have to change the way booting works if the time given for each turn is very low.

I also suggest some sort of spectator setting that will allow us to view from the viewpoint of player A or player B, and be able to switch between these. This can be applicable after the game is done, but it's pretty necessary to provide better commentary. Instead of saying what player B is seeing, we can just click over and show the audience exactly what player B saw.

Jefferson, make a point or piss off.

The coins incentive WOULD increase streaming interest. Vainglory gets similar numbers of viewers on amateur channels as WGL did.

Arun, my point is that you are using this thread to make your point that Fizzer doesn't care about the community when you are really just pissy about the name change.
