Not all players know how to get to quickmatch and players are automatically assigned games on new templates
Right, players getting overwhelmed by the QM UI is the real problem here, not the surrenders or the message.
When you show players a wall of text on a popup and a big green Play button, nobody is going to read the QM instructions, they are just going to play.
I think a mini tutorial for each element you unlock as you play QM would be more effective, both at showing how QM works and letting people know what they actually unlocked.
1) 1st visit of QM: Explain MD vs RT, explicitly ask if they want MD games Yes or No (rather than just auto enable with a text info on how to disable)
2) After unlocking SE1W: Show how to enable/disable templates. Templates still get auto enabled to force players to move away from just playing SEAD forever.
3) After unlocking your first Vote: Show how to vote, what you are voting for (you can play with the top X of templates), and how to sort templates by votes/age.
4) After unlocking the setting for Auto-Enable Templates: Show them where setting is located.
Note: in most places I said "show" and not "explain". Text gets ignored way too easily, take them to the QM menu and visually show them around. I do understand that of course is a lot more work for Fizzer than just showing a few text popups, but I believe something like this will greatly improve the players understanding of how QM works.
