For Fizzer: New Game Setting Request: 2024-02-22 14:17:21

Please could we have a setting when creating games, where we can set a maximum number of real time games that any player is allowed to be in before joining?

For example, I could set it to "2", and this means that if a player is already in 2 real time games, then they are not allowed to join my game.

This would prevent situations in which players have to wait for a single player to commit in 3+ other games before they can even look at my game. And it will also mean that they won't make trash moves.

I want the reverse setting, you can’t join my real time game unless you’re in some many other games you’re gonna have to make trash moves or time out.

I would like a setting that allows for a REGEX and SQL filters to filter out, who can join my games. C'mon, every programming language now has REGEX out of the box. Why is Warzone so lagging behind?!

Tbh even though this request is objectively a positive quality of life change, I doubt Fizzer will implement as it will directly affect whatever activity data he looks at.

Then let's revive it and bring it back.

I think having this setting is important, as lack of focus in a single game is something that probably hurts people's progression, as well as affects their overall enjoyment. Having to quickly make moves between multiple games is not fun.

Yeah have it for MD games too.

All the players with 200+ games tend to not surrender cause they have so little time to look at an individual game they dont even realize how horribly they lost already.

(Or maybe they are in 200 games cause they never surrender and are just a$$holes, but both are valid reasons to not want them in your games...)

More prerequisites are a good thing especially for team games. The current system is bare bones compared to the old.

Would that solve anything? If they join your game first and then bunch of others which unlike yours don't have this enabled -- you run into the same issue.

Maybe if you keep noticing such players joining your games, a better solution would either be asking them to not play more than 1 rt game at a time or just blocklist them.

It can't prevent players from joining other games after I have created mine, but it will definitely reduce this from happening.

Or we could go even further, and make it so that it prevents you from joining another game if you are already in a game with this setting enabled.

It's probably far more effective to just DM him stuff about this through the game mail.

I remember I requested something in the same direction before which might be easier to implement: Maximum average turn speed allowable in a RT game. Often I get games with people who need 3:45 minutes or something on average (sorry, Lepanto), and that's just not worth it for me. If I had the option, I would just disqualify everyone with a higher average than 2 minutes from my RT games.

That's data Fizzer already has, I'm not sure how accessible and valid the data about number of simultaneous RT games is (for example, the profile page takes minutes to update that).

The only problem I see with your suggestion, is that player who are above that average will have to play many games to bring it down, while a limit on real time games is something that applies to them in the moment. So if a player has a slow average playtime speed maybe because they multi game, they could still play if they suddenly decide to stop multi gaming, whereas with your suggestion, they would have to play many games they might not want to join to bring their average play speed down.

I think something needs to be done, because I am starting to avoid games where I know people multi game. Waiting in real time games is annoying.

Your point makes sense, although realistically, I don't know if there are that many people who suddenly and massively change their average playing speed after a certain point. At least I can't think of an example player about which I had noticed such a thing.

I'd like a setting to opt out of tournaments with an option to include /exclude like-clan tournaments

^ There is level 99 prerequisite and invite players that way. Would be better to have from your clan only though.
