Now… 2 remain! Octane & Tornado. Two of the greatest players to ever grace the game! There has been no one more dominant in competitive tournaments than Tornado, and there is no one with a more diverse resume than Octane. A few months ago Octane dethroned Rufus, the seemingly indomitable gatekeeper of the MTL. The first to do so in over a year! Since breaking through, Rufus hasn’t been able to permanently evict him.
Now… he’s set his sights on the AWP Emperor, Tornado! Tornado has ruled the World Tour with an iron fist for nearly half a decade! He reigns as the 3-time Tour Finals Champion, with each victory paired with a Regular Season title!
These two have fought each other 49 times and Tornado leads with a 55% winrate, but in AWP tournaments, Octane leads 8-5. Only once have they met in the final of an AWP tournament. It was the February 2023 Major, Volcano Island:

It was ultimately decided when Tornado made a late lunge for the line and overtook Octane with a few minor tourneys to spare, picking up his 4th consecutive Regular Season victory! They’ve continued this indirect fight into the 2024 season, too.
