If a game gives 1 diplomacy card and 1 abandon card per turn with territories taken, the answer is simple. Abandon one territory every turn, then recapture. Repeat while tossing diplomacy cards at opponent.

you can always force a draw in a small earth template(0 luck cyclic without cards) if both players are very very smart

here is a game where there is only one good starting position in1 vs 1 The set up was manual (1 territory to choose) so i took this position and the field next to it as my 2nd option in case I was too slow (which apparently happened). So I ended without this best starting position, but my 2nd position was enough to block the enemy (in the game options there was no initial income which further easen this task)
