Hi everyone!

I don't really play Warzone (as I'm sure my level makes obvious), but I have spent a lot of time looking at the maps on here. Around a year or two ago I designed a map myself, but as I don't play Warzone I never met the testing requirement, so it's just been collecting dust. Today I remembered it and decided I should do something.

Here's the link to the map: https://www.warzone.com/SinglePlayer?PreviewMap=104883

My idea was to have another regular Earth map, but include vast ocean territories which connect to many land territories and have an army income drawback for how strong they are (and a net bonus if you can control them all).

It might be unbalanced or confusing. Any input is welcome, though I'll likely only change what I have to. I also don't know how the testing process works, so any advice there is appreciated as well.

You might want to consider adding smaller bonuses and use the existing ones like super bonuses. The number of territories in bonuses take a relatively long time to complete. Could divide North America into USA, Canada, Central America. Europe could be East and West Europe. Africa could be North and South Africa.

All territories seem to connect correctly and contain double digit army numbers.

Good idea! I've updated the map now. https://www.warzone.com/SinglePlayer?PreviewMap=104883

Changelog:
    * Redid bonuses. There are no super bonuses, but each new bonus is 3-6 territories, and generally give more armies.
    * Added a bridge between Makkah and Chennai.
    * Changed the map's name to "Furby's Small Maritime World" because surely Hasbro won't care about that.
    * Blew up the moon.

I tried to balance the bonuses, but the bots conquer the oceans as soon as they can, so I'm not sure how balanced it actually is. Any input on bonus balance or on anything else is welcome. If there's no suggestions I'll ship it next weekend (haha)

(I didn't version correctly at first— which I've since fixed— but this means the old link doesn't work. I've edited my original post, so the correct link to the new version 1.0 is up there as well.)

You can have territories in more than one bonus btw.

I felt like superbonuses wouldn't fit what I want for this map as well as smaller bonuses do. Thanks, though!

I like it!
What are the territory names based on? Some of them (particularly Munich, Rawalpindi and Arusha) are curious.

Do you have any settings in mind for this map? In particular, starting income, number of initial territories, and fog settings?

Do you want partner(s) to play a couple games with and get these settings dialed in?

Oh, I didn't know that those settings had configurable defaults. I honestly have no idea what I'd do with them. I'm down to play a couple games to get them figured out, though I don't know the warzone meta at all.

Thanks Murk! The territory names are cities– usually major cities– inside the given territory. I wanted to avoid regional names since my borders aren't always accurate. I also often chose cities that aren't too close to a border with another territory, though it looks like I didn't always follow that.

For those 3 cities specifically:
    * I don't remember why I chose Munich. Maybe because it's close to Italy?
    * Rawalpindi is next to and more populous than it's twin city, Islamabad, which is also Pakistan's capital. I don't entirely remember why I chose Rawalpindi, but I think I either wanted Islamabad at first and switched to the more populous city instead, or I wanted a city close to Afghanistan.
    * Arusha is a city in Tanzania, though there are several bigger and better known options in the East African territory. Arusha has been the site of several treaties in East Africa and hosts a few diplomatic institutions. It's also planned to be the capital of the proposed East African Federation, if that country comes into existence. I designed this map at a time when I thought the EAF would be formed within a few years, so I was partly trying to account for that. I also wanted to give Arusha more visibility in general.
I could change Rawalpindi and Arusha if they're too obscure, though.

Maps dont have default game settings, but if you make a good template that uses your map, your map is much more likely to get played :)
