Google answer to a question: What is a forum?

noun: forum; plural noun: forums; plural noun: fora

1.
a meeting or medium where ideas and views on a particular issue can be exchanged

The idea is WarLight. I do think there should be two separate threads, politics and competitive, which would alieviate us writing too much and you not shutting up about it.

But as always, this idea will never be adopted.

Couldn't agree more with Lolowut.

I wish there was a feature such as "ignore thread" and the post doesn't show up any more(kind of like how Outlook email works). Or not being able to see blacklisted players posts would also help solve this problem.

@Thomas
1. You have acess to the forum.
2. You have freedom of speech.

To refer to point number 2. If you are in public can you say anything? NOOOO! There is a thing called disturbing the peace. It is 'technically' considered illegal to shout FIRE! Or threaten someone in public..... You have the freedom.... Dont abuse it!

As to the first point..... Read the first rule of Warlight---> "You shall be respectful to other players at all times."

https://www.warlight.net/wiki/Rules

I believe the the words "at all times" would apply to how you use your freedom...

I don't understand the issue really. This is the subforum for clans, meaning it's where people should come to talk about all clan related matters. Seems pretty cut and dry to me.

Poon on brothers and sisters.

Freedom of speech laws don't apply on websites like Warlight; Fizzer's laws do. So using that law as an excuse to spout nonsense isn't particularly logical...

non-members should pay 10 coins for every forum post. we'll see how free speech will be then.

And they're not even laws, they're rules. You won't be arrested if you break them.

I'm pretty sure the 'Terms of Service' is legally binding . . . . there's some stuff in there you can definitely be arrested for ;)

I am with Lolo. Yes you should be allowed to post clan battles, etc here. But no you should not have 3 or 4 threads saying the SAME thing. Without any moderator tools to combine or delete threads it won't be cleaned up. You can say just ignore them, and I do, but other good threads get buried in the junk.

I will personally shun all these clans that either spam invites or the forums. They will not be invited to things I run. Sure, you sort of have free speech here, but you also make a reputation. Stop calling people names if they blacklist you. They have the right to ignore you in more places than the forums.

Also, it being a subforum is not enough. Click the all forums and look at that. Out of the first 25 threads, only a half dozen are warlight discussions like Fizzers thread. The rest are clan drama or off topic. It makes you want to ignore the forums completely

Agree with lolowut and ChrisCMU. I usually go to the show all forums link and it's just all about clan drama that I don't care about. Make one thread and keep it at the top of the list by frequent commenting, that's fine. If need be, make one other thread that is the opposing view which would be fine, too. But 23 threads? The other threads are drowning and being pushed off of the first page, even though I check the forums once per day. Plus, these threads are also taking up space on the multiplayer dashboard and just serve as a hazard to keep potential new forum readers away.

there's also a danger that a serious player will see the content of this forum and think that most clans are more concerned with clan drama rather than making a good fun community for whatever type of player you are. and thus stay away from clans altogether. and thus the only interest clans will get is from people who think clan drama is fun.

(i know i am in a clan that is guilty of perpetuating this, but i try very hard to get my clanmates to stop). (yes it is difficult).
