I'll drop a teaser for my first map. I stopped working on my other sea level one because I couldn't find enough motivation so let's hope this doesn't go the same way. It is in no way finished though, and if you have any suggestions feel free to drop them here.

Id suggest either making all the earth bonuses neon color or all dark colored. When you both it looks weird...

nice idea, but I can tell you that it will be pretty difficult to deal with all the empty space and the resulting tiny territories. Im looking forward to your solution. =)

it looks pretty nice to me, im don't know how to make maps, but i prefer maps without many long connections( if you know what i mean) can't you also make a map from just the earth part of this map? so withouth the space

I could. However we already have several good Earth maps and I doubt we really need more.

Ok, I balanced the Earth bonuses and tried to streamline connections so it doesn't look as odd. However I don't really like the chokepoint between Earth and Venus. Any idea of how to counter that? I also think Mercury needs some balancing too.

Ignore the text at the top and ignore the distribution mode (Earth 2050); when I ran test games with that the Africa AI won 7/8 times.

This looks great! I'm looking forward to how you will portray the other planets. Here are some notes:

I would say change Central Africa Geostationary to EU Geostationary.
Kenya space elevator might be a bit overpowered as it has emediate access to both weapon defenses mening it can get that one bonus in one turn.
Make sure the other space elevators have the same graphics although I asume that you were going to change that anyway.

For the Venus chokepoint, I would say add another weapon defense to the top which conects to China and Arizona and, through a slightly longer rought, can get to both closer to the sun and away. I don't think you need the lines connecting the stations to the regions, the text should do.

Done, the Central Africa name was a relic from when it was over Central Africa.

I agree, I think I'll just give it access to one platform.

Make sure the other space elevators have the same graphics although I asume that you were going to change that anyway.

Only two of them are actually space elevators; the others are orbital assembly platforms. I might add a different graphic for that similar to the space elevator graphic to make it clearer.

Seems like a good idea!

I'll see what I can do, but space (heh) is kind of cramped with the Earth map at the top.

I don't think you need the lines connecting the stations to the regions, the text should do.

Yeah I'm really not sure what to do about the lines, I guess I'll just think about it some more.

I added some more territories to Venus, and I am about to begin work on Mars. I don't know how to structure it however. Should I do a Mercury-like territory type with grid zones or something like Venus with many interconnected zones?

try and make the earth map in that section on the top, then add planets to it

australia needs at least a South australia and queensland territories

for mars do a mercury style thing

also if you download google earth, there is a mars map on it which shows major formations... might help with naming

P.S. you can flight simulator over mars too :)

Finished the planet Mars for the most part (will add some more space stuff). What do you think?

It's quite plausible that the rocket launching industry will take off in the southwest, and it's more balanced because the South America one is so close by. It also makes more sense to build a Space Elevator on the Equator as opposed to Guyana.

I have a coupe of suggestions. Firstly, if you're talking about a place that, officially, is undefined, then you should put the suffix -ern on points of the compass. For example, the bonus you called South Africa should really be called Southern Africa. This distinguishes it from things with an official border, in this case, the territory called South Africa, which has proper agreed-upon border as it is a country.

However, some of the bonus do actually have defined border, despite not being countries, such as West Africa.

This is what I think you should change (add -ern):

West Canada (Bonus)
East Canada (Bonus)
South Africa (Bonus)
East US (Bonus)
West US (Bonus)
North Moon (Bonus)
South Moon (Bonus)
West Australia (Territory)
South Australia (Territory)
Northeast Australia (Territory)
