Hello everyone, I am in the midst of creating a Modern Greek map. It will have ~325 territories when completed, with insets of Athens and Thessaloniki. I am hoping to complete the map by Monday, Feb. 23. When I do so, I will need approximately 6-8 testers for a FFA.
Thanks everyone, I believe I have enough testers. Do you guys think I should use the Greek names for things, e.g. Αθήνα or the English names, e.g. Athens. I Am sort of leaning towards using English, but I would like to hear the community's thoughts.
It would be cool to have it in Greek, just it would not be very practical. Most people do not have Greek keyboards, or do not know how to pronounce the Greek letters. I think it would be easier to have it in Latin script.
There is indeed linking, but it is woefully lacking in the phone app versions of the game, and for that reason only I'd suggest going with Latin script: Coordinating team efforts is difficult enough as it is on a phone at the best of times.
What you could also do is have the English version along with the original Greek name as the territory's name. It just depends on if it's worth the trouble to do that. Latin-script is probably the better method of doing it though.
You could make an exception for the bonusses, like this: Αθήνα (Athens). Whereas for the sake of simplicity all the territories could be named in english.
