My issue with Linux is that not all games work with Linux like epic, Ubisoft, or just other homemade games.

^ did you see my original post or did that not work?

If it didn’t work you could try using Bottles.

There are launchers for things like Epic Games in Bottles when you use a gaming bottle.

Technically you could use a VM on a Linux machine to emulate windows if compatibility layers like Wine, Proton or Bottles fail.

Since when is, "Have a CPU and motherboard made since 2017, a high hardware requirement? 8th gen Intel is supported, that's not remotely new.

> When I had to open regedit twice within the first 5 minutes of my pc booting into W11 to fix some settings Microsoft forgot, I knew it was an even bigger pile of bugshit than I anticipated.

What are you claiming it "forgot"? I've been using W11 since June of 2021, never had a single major issue with it, in most ways it's just a better version of Windows 10.

> Bitlocker automatically enabled - prevents you from logging in if you didn't take note of the decryption key. Requires full reinstall to use again. You will loose all your files by doing that.

This is bogus. Only the pro versions of W11 even support bitlocker, and it is NOT enabled by default.

I have never had ads on my start menu either.

I swear 90% of the people talking shit about W11 either used it for a week, or have never even touched it.

Windows 12 will be out before Windows 10 reaches EOL either way, 12 is expected to launch within the next 6 months.

I hope that they don’t add more hardware requirements because that is what I find most annoying. Just because I shouldn’t keep using old tech doesn’t mean you should stop me.

Modern software being more demanding is not unusual. I don't think it's unreasonable to expect people to have a PC from the last 5-10 years.

Older CPU's also have security vulnerabilities. ie. Spectre.

My CPU is around $430 (i9-13900KF), but there are other CPU's just as new as mine, that are under $150. High end options being expensive doesn't mean all modern options are pricy.

Yea but let me do that at my own risk/performance loss. Maybe that is the most I can pay for and I still want some of the security/features of newer versions.

In some devices, like laptops you can’t always upgrade or swap the CPU because of physical design, so higher hardware requirements means buying whole new computer.
I’ve never been affected by hardware or firmware vulnerabilities. The computer still works, so why should I get a new one?

Software support for my hardware is still good. I’m not interested in most top gaming titles anyway which require newer hardware as minimum requirements.

Honestly, it was good while it lasted. Gonna cost me some bucks to replace the desktop though, since it can't support anything else
