Lets face it -- hardly anyone is saying they like the hourglass

Its not intuitive, hard to see and in the wrong place.

FACT: we already have a game status on the DASHBOARD.
There, we find
- Dot for "move pending"
- a big X for Eliminated and
- Solid Color for Moved and ready to advance.

Lets just use the Same Thing in game as on dashboard!

Put the same symbol on the color!!!! same as dashboard!
Make it consistent!

When i was a new player i had mo problem understanding the dot.
Why make everyone change??? That is terrible idea!

If I look up into the sky and see a star I think "ooo big flaming ball"

If I look on a counter top and see an hourglass with sand trickling to the bottom, I'd question who is still using a timer that old fashioned when they have a phone.

Hourglass implies time is ticking, makes a lot more sense than a star. It's also bigger/easier to see than the star.

+1 for continuity tho, but yeah JK probably right just make both hourglass

We have one hourglass on the board already. Why add another?

I think it would be best if there is a setting for players to choose which one they want.
That way all players can get what they want

I'm perfectly fine with the egg-timer. I don't see how it makes any difference compared with the asterisk.

I like hourglass. I wish it was a prettier hourglass. But it’s better than no hourglass :D

agree w/Tacky, would like a nicer looking hourglass. the one used lacks emptiness (too much white), needs some more empty space (black); both top and bottom halves look pretty full; tbh i doubt there's enough room in the bottom half to accept all the sand in the top half, so it's not even a functional hourglass

use a better icon; one with more sand on top and just a bit on bottom, and a few dots for sand falling

the position on the left is better than the * on the right b/c it lines up better visually, so it's easier/quicker to see who hasn't moved -- but there really should just be an option to click on the time indicator in top right on a game page that shows who hasn't moved and how much time is left, as opposed to just listing every player again; maybe a radio button to show all players, show only players who have locked in moves for this turn, show only players who have not locked in moves for this turn

even if the * were to come back, i hope it'd come back on the left side, not the right side

but JK makes a good point, why not put the hourglass on the dashboard too? a good dashboard icon though; hourglass icon is universally understood to mean "in process" or "waiting for something to finish", whereas dots are not (but admittedly they get the job done now, nothing wrong with them, doesn't impede the small icon, can still clearly see the player colour to at least some indication of who that player is, so it ain't broke)

on a separate note ... i miss AI players going green; it's easier to see the colour at a glance than look for "AI" in the player name; also it's possible that someone may have AI in their name and then it's confusing; actually would like the AI players not only green but clearly marked in the player Statistics box as well, preferably with a sortable field so it's easy to sort to quickly see AI vs humans vs eliminated/etc; i suppose can sort by name and scroll down to the "AI" items to see them but feels awkward
