Player speed as a possible prerequesite: 2024-07-03 19:38:42

We should be able to set a minimum average play speed in the prerequisites to join our games. My multi-day diplo games usually have a turn timer of 2 days with 3 days banked. Therefore, I don't want players with an average play speed slower than five days to join my game! Do you guys think this is a good idea? Any thoughts from Fizzer?

If i remember correctly, the average commit speed used to be a prerequisite you could set, but for some reason it was removed.

Why don’t you use boot % instead?

Just because someone’s average move speed is slower doesn’t necessarily mean they will be slow. Faster boot time forces more activity (or risk getting booted). In your games someone could play faster than their average because of shorter boot times.

If i remember correctly, the average commit speed used to be a prerequisite you could set, but for some reason it was removed.

Wasn’t included in the Unity rewrite because of low demand for that prerequisite.

Low demand is still some demand, so I don't see much of a reason to remove it.
Tho something could also be said for simplifying your code base and removing unused features.

I guess we can suggest this as a new feature now, and try to convince Fizzer to re-implement it.
