I started Afro-Eurasia Gargantuan and it's going slow right now because I decided to upgrade a few Epics into one Leg SAC. That Epic SAC sure would speed up these maps.

Since the upgrade is taking five days I decided to experiment by only digging for Epic/Poor Artifacts in AEG. I dug four and each one has come-up Poor and never Epic so I gave up the strategy.

Right now I'm digging a C 16% UC 84% chance Artifact. I've had good luck getting UC when digging artifacts w/> 81% UC likelihood. I've learned Artifacts w/< 80% isn't worth the time/risk of getting a C. Might as well go all Cs and keep digging while Cs are upgrading to UCs.

The expected value in terms of artifact wealth is the same (within rounding error) for all digs. If you're looking for a specific artifact type, C digs are your best bet because you can do the most of them per period of time. Especially early on the R and E digs are a bit of false economy, because even if you strike gold, most likely you'll get a junk artifact type (most of them are junk), so you're just looking to use that artifact as fodder. It sounds like this is your first L, so just think about how much longer you'd have to wait to get anything out of a (for example) Fog Buster E if you dig one up.

The other angle to consider is lining up the end of your digs so they happen when you're awake and near the end of a level, otherwise you may end up wasting time not digging.

Wait a minute. 5 Epic are needed to make one Legendary. I was trying to get an Epic by digging Poor/Epic digs Vs lower yielding digs like Commons and upgrading. I made four Poor/Epic digs in a row and each one resulted in a Poor artifact. These digs took days. I think it's faster to get to Epic Artifacts by simply digging Commons and upgrade up as opposed to risking dig time on long shot Epics from Poor/Epic digs.

As example in AEG the Xilingol League (Bonus) dig will take 1d 8h +/- for a 3% Epic/97% Poor chance.

Digs for 5 Commons take the same amount of time.

Do i risk the time only to get a Poor Vs taking the 5 sure Commons which can now be upgraded to Uncommon? From my experiment the Poor/Epic risk isn't worth the sure thing.

Alternatively, are you saying if I dig all the digs in AEG one of the Poor/Epic digs will result in an Epic Artifact? Perhaps I chose the wrong dig?

If you assign value 1 to poor artifact, then common is worth 5, uncommon 25, rare 125, epic 625.

Default time for 100% common artifact (value 5) is 8 hours, so you get 5/8=0,625 per hour.

Expected value of your example is 3%*625+97%*1=19,72

19,72/32 hours = 0,616 per hour, very close to 0,625 per hour.

This means that it does not matter which dig you choose, on average you will gain the same value per hour. Difference is that with more digs (shorter) you have more frequent chances to get the artifact you want.

Widzisz - thanks.

Sapk - thanks.

"Dream big ,and win big"

Now I understand. It's all in the "Woo-Who!"

Separately I do have a Leg AV, Leg A$B and in 12 hours will have a Leg SAC.
