Ok now let's stop this bullshit.
This way, the f***ing neo-nazi-roleplaying-fedora-wearing-germans-and-french-who're-secretly-closet-gay haven't been able to enter Brittish politics.
Truth be told, we French and Germans, do not give a shit about UK. De Gaulle in the 60's always vetoed any UK attempt to join the European Common Market (Great Britain had 2 failed attempts in 1963 and 1967), I quote:
" He warned France's five partners in the European Economic Community (EEC) that if they tried to impose British membership on France it would result in the break-up of the community.
All five - Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Italy and Germany - have said they would support negotiations towards British membership.
Only France remains opposed.
At a news conference at the Elysee Palace in Paris, attended by more than 1,000 diplomats, civil servants and ministers as well as journalists, General de Gaulle accused Britain of a "deep-seated hostility" towards European construction.
He said London showed a "lack of interest" in the Common Market and would require a "radical transformation" before joining the EEC. " General De Gaulle here was clearly right and farsighted, at that period UK was the "sick man" of Europe (The extreme industrial strife along with rising inflation and unemployment led Britain to be nicknamed as the "sick man of Europe" during the 70s), and if they joined EU the only reason was to benefit from EU members' money, steal them and then once they got what they wanted leave EU and blame us.
THat's too easy I would say. If the UK did not joined the European Union things would have been clearly different, as UK many times blocked EU to move on into a kind of federal and strong entity which could really compete and stand economically and politically against superpowers such as USA or China, and achieve Victor Hugo's dream "A day will come when all nations on our continent will form a European brotherhood ... A day will come when we shall see ... the United States of America and the United States of Europe face to face, reaching out for each other across the seas."
So yeah I would agree with you on one thing: Go Nigel, remove UK, remove this burden from Europe once for all!
