There is a futuristic dystopian novel from the 1950s called "The Space Merchants" that is essentially set in a world where government are puppets for a few big corporations that control our solar system. Monsanto is essentially one of these corporations from this novel, except Monsanto actually exists.

Obama himself said he would address this Monsanto issue during his campaign (at least food labeling laws), however, when money comes to hand and mouth comes to ass...well we see what the situation is here.

The US through shady deals might own the world in name, but the power will be in the hands of money. Money is free speech and corporations are legally people, what could go wrong?

The granola eaters have immense power and just throw all there money at the situation for the betterment of their agenda. Their agenda of course is the sheer amounts of profits they would make if GMO labeling went into effect.

The champion of the people, Monsanto, however, spends all of its resources to combat this unjust hysteria and to make sure people don't cowl in the fear of this misleading information from the soviet infiltrators. The idea that they use their lobbying power to prevent GMO labeling because GMO's are actually harmless and thus protect their own profits is absolutely ridiculous. They profit in knowing that the people are not being misfed lies or the competitors inferior corn.

Yes, because I SO wanna continue eating Genetically modified organisms. GMOs are -NOT- okay. I honestly would rather eat natural food than anything genetically modified.

BUT, thats just my opinion, GMOs make it so that we can mass produce food, but at what cost. Yes it could feed billions of Africans, but it could also feed the starving in other sort of countries.

Oh well, I personally just want to eat foods without being modified. But that wont ever happen...will it.

This isn't the 80s there are no deadly/harming chemicals in everything that has been worked in a lab.

I have never understood the blind fear/hatred of GMOs. This is all coming from someone who's studied them: There is no difference between GMOs made by Monsanto (+Similar companies) and the "all-natural" foods other than one has had it's genes changed slightly to have certain benefits.

Oh, by the way, using genetics to make plants exhibit traits we want is not a new process. Humanity has done this for years via selective breeding, it's only recently we've found a way to do it more efficiently.

And that oh so cherished "all natural" food? While growing it's covered in all kinds of chemical fertilizers and pesticides, than later even more chemicals are added to process it. If you don't want science involved with your food you best better grow your own or take up hunting.
