I was soooooo close.
I tried a new strategy several times:
#1. Ignore spain/portugal. Put up a wall and leave it to brown
#2. Charge East as fast as possible to find the guy in the far east (Purple)
#3. When he met me and it was obvious I couldn't keep up with his numbers, break into 3 (originally 4) major groups and charge in.
#4. Keep the brown (The boss) surrounded as much as possible and keep it from getting out of control.
IT WORKED@!!@!!!!
I had the purple guy cornered (eastern) and got to him. I could have dumped another 100 guys but got worried that my boss would have died right away. So furstrating.
Now I know what works though. With a bit of luck of course.
I took screen shots but I'm not sure how to post them.
