Apologies if not in the right forum. But I have noticed Warzone game play is very slow and lags alot on PC machines and Safari only on Mac. The slowness is seen on Windows 11 and Windows 10 (Firefox, Edge, Chrome). As far as Safari on Mac, it performs equally slow. Firefox on Mac is fine.
Any ideas on what the issue is?
many thanks

https://www.warzone.com/ReportBug is the most appropriate place

It's been slow for me ever since the change from Flash to UJS. UJS pages like the quickmatch page, multiplayer games, single player games, clan pages, clan forum pages and map pages take significantly longer compared to plain HTML/JS or Flash. I suspect its because of overuse of CSS transitions when elements are created and loading the full game instead of what's needed for the pages to function.

I've tried with Firefox and Firefox-like browsers on Windows 10 and a distribution of Linux.

It's likely because of increased hardware requirements, because of worse website optimization. My CPU was fairly new 10 years ago.

For general page navigation, you'd be better off using the standalone client (https://www.warzone.com/wiki/Standalone_Client - this is member-only) as the entire app isn't essentially reloaded every time you navigation from a normal webpage to a UJS one.

I’d suggest turning the Warzone website as a whole into what’s essentially a single-page application to prevent constant reloading and parsing of JavaScript.

Alternatively, make pages only load what they need to load to function (don’t load a massive script that contains the entire game).

While using the standalone client, you might want to set the target frames per second to 15 (or whatever the lowest is), to reduce GPU usage or reduce any feeling of slowness. I think default is 60, but seems excessively high to me, when most videos are usually 30fps and tv is 24fps. Can’t really see a visual difference because it’s not an action game.
