New mod: Negative Base Income: 2025-03-16 23:24:51

Negative base income mod is now live!

This mod makes the base income negative instead of positive.
For example, for a base income of 5 armies, 5 will be subtracted from the players total income instead of being added like it normally would.
Note that the total income can never become negative, and will be at least 0 armies per turn.

Why this mod?
I believe it might force some new strategies on players, where they have to value safe income and long-term expansion over engaging their opponents.
With a negative base income, obtaining a sufficiently high income to overpower that is your key priority.

Notice for anyone including the mod in their games
With negative base income, the game could become unplayable!!
If a player is unable to capture any more territories they have no way to obtain more income to offset the negative base income, resulting in them getting stuck.
Make sure the settings give players enough options to bridge the first few turns where the bonus income is less than base income.

Some ideas to make use this mod:
• Give players a bunch of reinforcement cards at the start of the game and let them figure it out when to use them.
• Use another mod (e.g. Start With Gold, or anything along those lines) to start your players off with some resources.
• Give all players a commander, which will prevent them from getting stuck

I'm not very good at making templates, but I'm sure someone will figure out how to use this concept in a neat way :)
