I'd say it would almost be better to turn it into a micro-transaction than to watch an ad.
You could use a DNS solution like
https://disconnect.me or
https://pi-hole.net to more generally block network requests to trackers or ads, though I wouldn't be surprised if you were not given a reward for "watching" the ad
There's also content blocking solutions for web browsers like UBlockOrigin (UBlockOrigin Lite is not fully feature packed compared to original due to technical limitations) or AdGuard.
You could also use a browser that implements Global Privacy Controls and make sure it is enabled. Rejects tracking cookies (which in turn rejects some ads) and cookie banners won't be shown as often due to the preference of rejecting consent to cookies by default. Any Firefox or Firefox-based browser has GPC implemented, though you might need to turn on strict/enhanced browser protection. Brave also implements GPC and is enabled. I'm unsure if there are any other Chromium-based browsers that implement it.
