how do you people make it profitable to produce things like transformer, solenoid, resistor, fuse?

first constructing the amount needed of metal pipes, welding rods and twine takes loads of time and costs of course capacity of the crafter. Capacity that may also be used for for instance a magnet, only 2 neodymium needed.

Buying the welding rods metal pipes and twine costs so much money that after for instance 40 transformers (220 hours of crafting) that the profit is just over 1 billion.

What am I overlooking and how do you tackle this?

“High level” players don’t craft. They don’t even smelt. They memorize where markets are and use markets for any tech or money needs. If there’s a level that has annoying tech which markets don’t help with, they just avoid the level altogether.

Very high level players don’t even use tech at all, markets are just for money at this level

You don't make that profitable. Selling the raw alloys will be more profitable, and that is if you bother making alloys at all in the first place.

As Leon said, buy alloys for low cost from a market, sell them for a high price. Repeat until rich.

The only reason to craft something like a transformer would be to get the achievement "Craft an Idle item worth 1T".

Couldnt find any way to make it profitable so Im happy to hear Im not crazy.

Which levels are you talking about, Claudius Civilus?

My best time for Hardened Triskelion is 18 hours and this is slow. Not a lot of time to smelt or craft.
