Idea
Share the original svg for each map (maybe have it be optional for authors).

Pros
Can edit other people's maps, allows examination of construction details, encourages open shared development.

Cons
Duplicated maps, conflicts between authors, copyright issues (?)


I've wanted to modify a few maps to "improve" them. For example, I'd like to modify the earth map into something Pangaea-esque. Or take the huge USA map and crop out the northwest for a new map. I'm happy sharing my source and wonder if others are, too.
