I got onto WarLight today, just like every other day and started playing my turns. In one of my games, there was un unread chat message. I opened it up, and it read something like:

What do you think about the new nuke and time-travel cards?

I replied "What do they do?"

I then left that game and went into the next one. Also in that one, there was an unread chat message. I opened it up, and it read something like:

What do you think about the new nuke and time-travel cards?

My first thought was that those two players were alts, as the times that those messages were sent were within a minute of eachother. I then went to their profile pages, and found that one of them played from New Zealand, and the other one from Portugal. So, I got rid of that theory.

A third game also had un unread chat message. This one had the question "Have you heard about the new time travelling card?" I replied "No, I haven't." When I came back later, the question wasn't there, but my response was.

Once I finished all my games, I found that I had an unread chat message in the first game. I went into it, and it was a fellow player asking why I had asked What the new cards did. I did some more investigating, and found this bug coming up over and over. I have put the links to the games down bottom. The first game has a bit more chat explaining what was happening, but I'd still like some ideas as to why.

Thanks for the link, sent a report. Is there any way to find it without finding threads the link has been posted in?

With the capitalisation, it is messed up, however, it is the first post I have seen that is like it, so I am guessing that you did the random capitalisation on purpose.

The bug report is sent, but do you know what might be happening? Do you have any ideas?

Did you confuse private chat with your own main ? You can check the mail (private messaging) to be sure.

It is the envelope icon under players names.

I have spotted the same. And two other person in diffren games with other statement (something about "hy havent you started on the other side of the map?"). I was trying to post it here but this statements hac dissapeared from history :/ They were in public chat.

what is more I have replied for one of that questions (with elaborate "what?") and it looks strange now as this original (bugged?) statement has dissapeared and there is only my "what?" left :0

I love when people cry about "Bugs" on April 1st.

Fizzer should have changed the default skin to some pink Hello Kitty/Barbie or "Peace and love hippie" type thing. That would have been hilarious :D

Although Fizzer is American, WL updates (and seems to run) on an UTC/GMT clock without DST. (Ladder updates and starts/ends of seasonals are around (shortly after) midnight UTC/GMT).

Yeah, something weird is going on. I saw the exact same chat message from Lolowut and Ineffable in public chat for two clan leagues today. Totally unprovoked and random question. Then I was playing smiley semi-RT and answered a question from him (he asked why I chose that side to hit first). He asks me what I am talking about. If I load the old chat, his question is not there.

If this is a prank, I don't like it. The question I got could lead to giving away intel.

I was so fooled, I'll admit it. Though I do wonder what a time-travel and a nuke card would be like.

Simple: a nuke card kills an army that you can't kill on your own... and turns that territory into a wasteland...

a time travel card is a card that is used to view the confirmed orders of other people...

not much point in real-time games.

Oh, and for the record, I hate April Fool's Day with a passion. :P
