Were the coins once supposed to be stars? Sometimes they appear as stars for me, but I can't really reproduce when:

wen you get 100 coins, you get a star. thats how videogames have worked since the N64

What browser are you in? The image is getting sized down so this is probably a side-effect of the way your browser resizes the images. I could probably fix it by making a separate image for that specific size.

Not true, I still have the original 100.

I am able to reproduce this bug.

I simply hit ctrl + [and] - raipedly. (Zoom in/out)

Note, Have to zoom out first for it to happend. Don't happen by only zooming in. (so anything under 100% zoom causes it for me.)

Also the image fixes itself after a short second showing "stars".

I never changed my window size or zoomed in/out when I experienced the stars. I also can't reproduce them with what TBest wrote.

Next time I see this happening I try to click on the image to check whether this really is a separate image file or just a rendering issue. Furthermore, I will try how it will behave when I zoom in and what happens when I resize the window.

Just happened again. Image file is the correct one, so browser resizing problem as you suggested @Fizzer. When I started zooming in, stars changed to coins. Zooming back out did not bring back stars.

The only thing that I don't quite get is why it just sometimes has those resizing problems, but not all the time. Anyway, just wanted to let you know.

Yeah, mine does it for two seconds after doing that zooming, but it quickly reverts.
