Try this solutions:

1. Play multi-day diplomacies
2. Play only with people you trust.
3. Give them a chance to give back those lands.
4. Blacklist them, and kill him so your country gets stronger.
5. Better than keep playing with them.
6. Create your own one, or tell someone to create it for you as you haven't level enough.
7. Play in Europe maps, they are really fair if you divide Russia.
8. That's the purpose of a diplo, if you want easy points play lotteries.
9. See #2.
10. See #2.
11. That's one of the best things in Diplos, you can challenge someone to a wording war.
12. And you seem to be one of them.

If this solutions doesn't work for you, try @Darth_Grover or @iamtaller solutions. Have a nice day :D

iamtaller,

Your logic is unshakable. It's almost like you learned your argumentive skills from that great debater of legend and lore: JS0223!

Chewing is annoying and for boring people! You're unbreakable reasoning has convinced me to follow your banner!

Let's start a clan called Sandwich Exterminators Brigade.

12. There are too many problems about Diplomacy.

So actually there's only eleven problems we need to fix then; that'll make problem twelve disappear automatically.

Now, we could try finding one solution per problem, but I prefer killing eleven birds with a single stone if possible. So, here comes my solution to all of your problems (yes, I really do think it will fix much more than your problems with Diplomacy Games):
*drumroll*
*dramatic silence*
Don't play them

Now, if there was a huge flood of games labelled "Not a Diplo, no really, it's not!!!111", but then when you read the rules it is a Diplo, I might figure out a way to see your point, but I've never witnessed that.

So, here's my proposal:
- You don't join Diplo games.
- You let other people decide for themselves whether they play Diplo.

If you have a legitimate concern, where the mere existence of Diplo games negatively impacts those people who don't play them, I'm willing to listen and see if we can think of a better solution. Until that time though, I'm with everybody else on this thread who isn't you and summarise...

TL;DR:
There is no problem.

Problems with JS0223:

1. He's impatient
2. He boots all the ACTIVE players
3. He gets angry when he "accidentally" breaks the rules
4. He gets angry when he "on-purpose" breaks the rules
5. He's not on enough blacklists
6. He thinks that ALL diplomacy TEMPLATES are bad
7. He doesn't understand that winning is not what makes a good game of diplomacy
8. He doesn't get that the fun game of diplo in itself is the end
9. There are not enough GAMES where he is booted
10. He is one of the impatient people who get blacklisted for booting
11. He doesn't understand how to debate
12. He doesn't get that he is the problem.

That's 12 problems about JS0223!!! So that's why I want him gone. SORRY if everyone thinks he's a troll but he's certainly not quitting on his own so I need to fix him myself. It is not because he is bad at them or he is playing too many bad games. If Fizzer won't fix this, I will. Oh yeah, and did you notice that ZERO of the diplo player in the game care about anything JS0223 says?

1. I don't really think any people are that patient. Besides, when I boot active players it's because like you said, I'm impatient, and because they spend too much time arguing and not enough time taking turns. Also, some people boot me when I'm active but I don't blacklist them!
2. See #1.
3. I always do it on purpose and I don't get angry.
4. See #3.
5. I am on a lot of blacklists, and I don't get how someone can be or not be on enough blacklists.
6. Yeah, because diplomacys are bad themselves.
7. Of course it's not, because nothing makes a good diplomacy game. They are bad, period.
8. Diplomacy games are not fun at all.
9. Again, I don't get how someone can be booted enough or not enough. Also see #1.
10. See #1.
11. I do, and I'm debating right now.
12. I might be, but I'm only being a problem so I can end a problem.

Hello. Today, I would like to explain to you why sandwiches should be banned. Recently, I've been eating sandwiches, and I keep choking on them whenever I try to eat them without chewing. A lot of people do this, and since the majority of the world don't eat sandwiches, they should be banned everywhere for the safety of us all. Also, I went to a cooking place and they banned me from going there every AGAIN because I made a sandwich wrong, even though I'm perfectly good at all the other foods. Here are 12 reasons why sandwiches should be banned.

1. Choking Hazard
2. If it has peanut butter, and someone is allergic to peanut butter, they could die from eating it.
3. Tastes bad.
4. Takes too much time to make.
5. It falls on the floor too often.
6. There are too many accidentally bad sandwiches.
7. There are too many purposely bad sandwiches.
8. Peanut Butter, Meat, Lettuce, and Jelly sandwiches are too much more popular than the rest.
9. Its too often when you accidentally hurt yourself making one.
10. There are too many impatient people who mix up the layers of the sandwich.
11. There are too many CONVERSATIONS going on while the sandwiches are being made and eaten.
12. There are too many problems about sandwiches.

That's 12 problems about sandwiches!!! So that's why I want them gone. SORRY if everyone thinks I'm a troll but they are certainly not ending on their own so I need to fix them myself. It is not because I am bad at them or am making too many sandwiches. If the master Chef won't fix this, I will. Oh yeah, and did you notice that ZERO problems say that I don't like them?

I don't know if he actually meant that, he was probably just copying me. Also, this forum has nothing to do with that and I recommend that he starts a new forum instead of changing the subject of this one.

I concur: sandwiches have done nothing but endanger lives, Think Of The Children! We should outlaw them; capital punishment or otherwise for those homosexuals who are immoral enough to disagree. And don't sew their heads back on either, that's too respectful for them.

Once again, nothing to do with this thread.

JS0223 ruined again a new game yesterday, the ww2 Semicedevine map, he was in my team (axis) chose the BEST SLOT (Germany), taking 10min to commit each turns, not sending armies, and as I expected we lost because of him.

I didn't do that on purpose, my computer was having problems, I wasn't paying attention to chat, and I surrendered because my teammates were attacking me. I only ruin diplomacys on purpose, not team games.

JS0, I'm extremely offended that you think sandwiches are not important.

In response to your last post, where they take too long to start, why are you still joining them if you don't like them? Besides, thats just a thing about big games, the big team games I play take just as long.

I wouldn't chew HIM either.

I nominate as the first sammich that we vote to ban:

Pastrami and Swiss Cheese on Rye

Reasons:

1. Pastrami is stringy and I don't feel like chewing.
2. Swiss Cheese has holes in it. I think that the Swiss Cheese sellers are injecting their cheese with air in order to sell you less cheese for more money.
3. Rye bread usually has seeds. As stated before, I'm not going to chew. ON PURPOSE. People who chew are boring and it's my duty to end the problem.
4. I don't like them, so logic dictates that nobody else can.
5. There are too many problems about Pastrami and Swiss on Rye

Four legs good, two legs bad.

(Why? They chew more, on average.)

JS0223, just because you have a very different view on diplomacy games, it doesn't mean you have to be so angry someone DARES play diplomacy games and actually ENJOY them! OH NO! What a tragedy! *scream*

Also, your whole point is invalid. As everyone said, just don't join them. All the others are avoiding the conflict, but you... you just seem to be obsessed over proving the fact diplomacy games are useless.

Let me explain why you're completely wrong. Firstly, most of diplomacy players play because they ENJOY playing diplomacies, not because they want to WIN them. I think that's the chokepoint.

In my opinion, there is a rather strong difference between diplomacy gaming and regular WarLight gaming, because in regular WarLight (FFA's and team games) you are playing to win the game, whereas diplomacy games go more in a direction of more sophisticated strategy games, with pacts, alliances, war declarations, sometimes also displaying a specific historical situation in order to see how this would work out.

Of course, there are always problems with diplomacies... especially real time ones. Why? You get to pick between open seats requirements (to prevent low level players and/or high bootrate players from joining, but then players join slower) or a less good game (lots of AFK's, some PE's probably, surrenders...). Also, I think the term "diplomacy" needs to be broadened, because there are also some team games that could qualify, for example WW scenarios (there is a great WW2 scenario by Semicedevine), simply because it's played for fun.)

I do agree there could be an option to mark your game as "diplomacy" and set up a special filter for diplos, like there is for lotteries. But then again, it might be too much... not many players seem to be disturbed by diplos showing up except The Lone Whiner we got over here.

That being said, there are casual games and serious ones. Some diplos are between them, but mostly, people play diplomacy games to have a fun time, maybe talk a bit, eventually try to win by successfully making alliances... or either invade everyone. This works too. Personally, I like diplomacies because of the arguments it produces. I really like historical, political, religious etc.. debates (mostly because of their pointlessness, but that might be just me), while playing WarLight and still doing "something". There is also the luck part, since you never know who will be out of the game (boot/surrender) or how your neighbours will really react. This is the beauty opf diplos. It's kind of a simulation of a more sophisticated strategy game (Total War, Civ, Europa Universalis...) in a more simple and easy to configurate one.

I hope I crushed your "arguments" (which you lack) well enough for you to stay quiet and stop sharing your opinion who almost no one shares. Also, I REALLY hope you have some knowledge before making any assumptions. Your ignorance is blatant... I would point out all your mistakes one by one but I don't want to waste my time for that.

Sincerely,

Death.

PS. I'm waiting for your counter arguments impatiently (of course, if they will make any sense this time)

First of all, I'm stunned by Death's reply. That's the king of argument that comes from a Diplomacy player!
As someone who plays Diplo games almost exclusively, I really would be quite crushed if they were gone. I play Diplo, partially for the good talks, but also because, frankly, I seem to really suck at FFA games. It's all attack. In Diplo, while it might not take MORE strategy, it takes a different KIND of strategy.
So, JSO223, might I suggest (like everyone else) that you not play Diplo games? After all, most people assume that these games WILL be FFA. That's why almost every Diplo game EXPLICITLY says, DIPLOMACY.
Finally, what does everyone else think about the sandwiches? This topic is obviously won for the side of Diplos, so lets go ahead and recycle the thread for sandwiches!
