I've recently had a rather horrible time of romance. I wanted to see if anyone had any stories or advice concerning falling it love, loving a person, heartbreak, etc. I do NOT want stories of excessive drama/sexual content.
I'll leave one statement here to start: Love, real love, is wanting the other person to be happy, no matter what the cost to yourself.
JOKE: Well your not allowed to love a person of the same sex according to Colonel. But I'm not against it.
SERIOUS STUFF: But yeah heartbreak is a normal thing of life IMHO. It happens to almost everyone. Some more than others. Some at different times. Love is a razor.
We've all been there brother. It sucks but it gets easier.
But yeah, you gotta make sure you're happy before you can try to make the other person happy. If you spend all your time neglecting your own happiness trying to please them you'll just end up miserable and likely resenting them.
Love, real love, is wanting the other person to be happy, no matter what the cost to yourself.
That is a bad idea dude. I can't help with the romance (consider yourself lucky, I have never gotten that far) but remember that if a girl starts to manipulate you that's bad.
I think you've misunderstood my quote. It's only useful if it goes both ways. I'm not saying you should let people do whatever, I'm saying you have to be there for the other person. You have to ensure their happiness, and they you.
This isn't all about me. Yes, i've had a rough time, but I wanted to see what other people thought too. I've got my own people to talk to about what happened to me, I just needed an intro line for this subject.
