Hello there! I've decided to create a new map from the known world arond AD 110. Although this is going to be my first work here, I'm not much afraid about it (I'm a cartographer, so I guess it won't be problematic for me).

So as a teaser here you have a picture from the current state. Any help would be appreciated, mostly regarding bonus territories and further ideas.

EDIT: here you have the link to the map: https://www.warlight.net/SinglePlayer?PreviewMap=42876

What do you mean when you say you are a cartographer, is it your profession?

And my suggestion would be to make it unique somehow, because there are quite a few Rome maps out there already.

To be exact, I'm a last-year student in cartography, but I can say that it will be my profession.

Why not CE 117? Isn't that the largest Roman Empire's extent?

Common Era (CE) equals with Anno Domini (AD), I presume? BTW I've had that in my mind: in the reign of Traian had Rome its largest territory.

The fact that it's already more detailed than most of the Rome maps makes it unique

Yeah, CE is the the secular version of AD.

Because those fields belong to the same province. I've thought on a two (or probably three) level bonus system, first level would be conquering a province, second level a territory (ie. Hispania, Italia, Arabia...), third a whole state. However I'm not sure if that third level is needed at all.

For drawing I'm using CorelDraw. However it seems like I have some problems with exporting to SVG with my version, so either I'll wait with the first gaming tests when I finish the whole map, or I'll convert it very soon in Inkscape. It is very likely that the second option will happen.

EDIT: picture in first post updated!

Looks like a promising project. I'd love to play it!
I'm always in for good and accurate historical maps. Yes, there are quite a few Rome maps around, but most of them are very poor on that account.

Just had a wild idea some hours ago: what if I could include more territories? Actually that worked out well, just I had to slightly increase the size of map and rotate the whole work done with an angle of 10°.

Personally, I like the idea. How about you?

Your second version is better. I cant really review properly without a link to the version on warlight. If you have uploaded that yet?

I'm glad that you like the modifications. ^^ About your question, Apollo, the map hasn't been uploaded yet to Warlight, because so far I had problems with SVG conversion, and since I don't want to add much more fields (probably in Parthian Empire), I'll rather wait until I've finished the work for the first time.

BTW current stand has been again updated.

So here you have the link for the map of mine. Currently only Magna Britannia works, I'll open the map for tests, if I'll have at least three whole territories added.

Divide et impera open for tests. The field is about 50% working. Seven magna territories are working (Britannia, Hispania, Gallia, Germania, Italia, Illyria and Macedonia), three more territories are playable (without boni though, it's Asia, Armenia and Sarmatia).

I'm curious, how the bonuses work for now, so I've decided to give it a shot now.

Looks pretty nice, but I wouldn't want to play it personally, since I don't like the very Latin feel.
