Two clans have 2 players in top 10, Master and WG

Each clan was sorted by its single top player, Chris. :)

would be cool (but lots of work) to see points given for place (reverse of rank). So if you count top 100, #1 gets 100 points, #2 99 points, etc. Then add up total points by clan.

OR, another way would be to add the total ratings for all players by clan.

That would be awesome, but I'd love it if Warlight could do it automatically. I don't have time to keep updating something like this :)

This sounds like a good idea...
It might be better if the clans were sorted by clan averages.

It might be better if the clans were sorted by clan averages.
But this causes problems, as it prefers people with lower amounts of people, most preferably just a sole #1.

Also it makes this funny situation where a clan with just #2 wins against a clan that dominates with #1, #3, #4, and #5 (13/4 = 3.25)

Look at SNinja. If their person ranked 65th left the ladder (leaving only the person ranked 35th), they jump from 9th on your list to 5th, just because someone left the ladder.

The data was correct at the mentioned time, 27 April 2015, 19:40-22:15 UTC. You viewed it several hours later, when the rank and rating changed.

This is the only disadvantage, however it's the only way I know of that sorts clans, as a whole in terms of how good participating members are.

I think total rating is better than average rank.

It took me 3 hours 30 mins. to do the averages and I'm probably not going to spend more time doing this, unless there's a short-cut / automatic way of doing it.

Yikes, I agree.

I've copied ladder rankings in the past, and it is pretty quick to format if you use the right combinations of programs (excel, text editor, etc). It takes about 5-10 minutes to get the entire list formatted how you want (rank, player, rating)...if it is taking you a long time there, I can give you tips on doing that fast. I think I pasted into text editor first, eliminated "new!" in mass, standardized spaces/tabs, inserted comma separator...then opened comma separated in excel. All of this is very fast in a text editor (I use Ultra Edit but there are many).

The issue after that is then grouping the player. That has to be done manually since clans are icons, not an item in the list you can group on. If you past into text editor first, it does not carry over the icons (or arrows up/down). That makes formatting easy, but also loses the clan icon entirely. Pasting from site to excel creates big format issues though. Pasting into Word first looks nice (table elements line up), but since clan tag is in same column as Player name, that is still hard to separate.

If I could find a way to return the picture name in excel, you could do it.

Hmm, I found a workaround. Takes a few steps but not horrible.

1) paste into excel
2) use a Macro to extract URLs from images:

So I made a google sheet from this that displays the clan name for each person (I only did lookup for top 10, but all clans would need to be added):

It is then easy to do any kind of math you want on it. There could also be a tab for each ladder.

The only real work is copying the ladder as it currently is, running the macro in excel to extract the URL (I am going to look into a Google Apps Script to replace that macro: https://support.google.com/docs/answer/2942256?hl=en), then pasting into the google sheet. It would be nice if I could auto retrieve it somehow.

At any rate, we can do our own clan rankings this way (based on the ladders). Maybe Fizzer would adopt it some day.

I think I will split this off into a separate discussion on clan ranking system and grab all the ladder data and bring it in.
