I've written post some time ago but nobody answered. So I'm writing now again: am I the only one who sees that current algorithm that counts points is thoughtless and kills the competition?

Waiting for the answer especially from hmm some moderators, people responsible or connected with Warlight administration.

Best regards,
M.

Ok for me sitaution is like this:
1) Do we realy loose points for games from the past, when our opponents loose rank? Why?
2) Do you cancel points for games with pairs that don't exist anymore?
3) Why wins are so poorly pointed? For every game you have to reckon with the lost of about 20-30 points. This is mainly the reason why pair no. 1 play one game per month. It simply does not pay. And after 2 months this pair is not ranked anymore. A lot of players do it like this - get rank and play as long as possible. Tactics "not to loose points", to keep rank seems to work for some time. This was the idea?

Thank you for this link, but it doesn't answer all of my doubts.

"This system allows giving an advantage to players that pick first, as described above."
Not needed, I suppose. For me there is not too much of a difference with or without the first pick. With you have better position, without you have the knowledge, about the opponent's position. Moreover actual algorithm that determines who takes which pick is a bit confusing, but gives less possibility of "searching" for enemies through picks.

"Ratings are calculated based on final ratings, not just what the rating was when the game took place."
Why? If you beat the leader, you should earn points as for the leader. If they quit ladder later on or decide to change partner (what is unfortunately pretty frequent), I loose points for this game. That's very much unfair. Some teams quit because of losses.

Even if a team you beat isn't participating in the ladder anymore you get the amount of points you would get if they were ranked. So there's no issue beside the first team might play slow or even stall to stay first. But there's no rating system i know that would avoid that.

But what is the exact amount? If they were ranked means from the moment when game was played or from last moment they were ranked? If the first option is correct, then why ranking is changing eventhough I did not finish any game?

It doesn't matter if a team is participating in the ladder or not. They got a certain amount of points and those points influate your rating if you had a game vs them. Read what ps sent and you might get it

It is influenting my rating very much. For example for last game against (sory for giving nicknames but everyone can see it) against Woswo and Judeburger we have earned 1 point or maybe -1 ... This victory was just enough to fill the loss we had of unknown reason. I think it's just weird and could possibly be changed.
