Icelandic turtles arent nice. They've been rude to me on multiple occasions, when ive been cordial.

At lest we don't have an inappropriate clan name. We also don't have inappropriate member names.

I always wondered why you picked that clan name, cause there aren't any turtles in Iceland..

I'd recommend reading on the forums to check what sort of reputation certain clans have.

Beyond that, what do you want to get out of a clan? Some clans are very good about hosting internal tournaments and developing their players strategically. Others are great pools of people to invite to diplo/RP games. Generally you can distinguish strategic and diplomatic clans by looking at how their members fare on the ladder- MASTER Clan and [Lynx] are clearly both strategic clans (looking, for example, at the 1v1 and Coin ladders)- and where you typically encounter their members. You'll find a lot of Wolves, for example, hosting/playing diplomatic games. Clan Forums also tend to vary in activity- I was briefly in DARKLORDS (just to see what the spam invite was all about) and I found it funny that the forums were mostly people talking about darklordio not really doing anything beyond spam-inviting people to the clan (i.e., there was no internal activity). The Lost Wolves, on the other hand, had a whole internal mythos going on that I couldn't begin to keep up with. CORP has a few social and game-related threads and is somewhere between the two.

So as far as joining a clan goes:

- figure out what you want to get out of it
- find clans that match that profile
- see if you meet the requirements
- message the leaders about your interest
- join the clan
- have fun
