To create a tournament that cost 50 coins to enter, you shouldn't have to pay 110 coins yourself plus the entry fee. Coin Tournaments should be free to create, except for the owner having to also pay the entry fee to play in it. (and of course, being level 56+)

The point in having such a cost is to deter low-quality tournaments from being created. If you have 110+ coins, there's a decent chance you're a strong player (with some exceptions). Strong players are more likely to create good competitive tournaments than noobs, and since coin tournaments are competitions with real money at stake, you don't want to have low standards for the templates involved.

Completely defeats the purpose of revamping the tournament page. Take away the cost and we return to countless tournaments going unfilled and the whole system failing.

If you want a free tournament, wait until there are no open tournaments and then you can create one for free.

Beside 'free to create' tourneys, i've noticed one RT tourney created by Gnuff, one by ryiro and few by me. Most of tourneys was created by Fizzer himself so far.
The goal was to reduce number of open tournaments:

There were no more than 10 open tournaments at any given time since last changes.
Unfortunately there were no more than 2 open tournaments at any given time since last changes.
So, unless Fizz wrote this using binary system, i think we went a bit too far this way

Right - but apparently they are not to eager to spend their coins. So most of open tourenys are going to be created by 'free to create' possibility - everyone can do it, even using 'Pirate vs Ninja' or any other shit template (i'm a bit surprised that any of countless trolls didn't exploit this possibility so far)

I consider myself a decent player, but I cannot create any because I cannot spend my coins (I played my alt with coin games).

Or perhaps I can, since nothing has been done about people playing two accounts with coins yet.

He didn't say free. He said the creator would still have to pay the entry fee.

Even that 50 coins (is what Tryion stated) would deter most people creating tournaments. But as it's cheaper than 160 there would be more variation.
