My McAfee security labels Inscape.net and SourceForge as safe sites, but flags the Inkscape download a malicious. Can anyone give me any info as to why Inkscape is coming up like this. Also, is it a safe program to use?

Inkscape is indeed a safe program to use - it's well known and used by lots of people. I would just verify that you're downloading it directly from www.inkscape.org - as long as you're doing that, then it's just a bug in McAfee.

McAfee is really an awful activirus program, a quick Google search will tell you how many false positives it detects.

I personally recommend avast! antivirus, it's free (for personal use).
