We're talking about the land of political opponents disappearing by "accident",of Presidents who win 140 percent of the vote, the country who denies it's obvious involvement in a neighboring civil war.

Now the U.S government isn't open or transparent by a long shot, but to say Russia is any better is down right crazy.

America has political opponents dissapearing "by accident", too, they keep it quieter though, see John Roll, for the most recent political murder. There are three country categories in the world: Ones that have one elite, ones that have multiple elites and ones that don't matter (only third category can be a true republic and care for its folk). And America denies that Abkhazia and South Ossetia exist, and other countries.

Russia and America both are not transparent, but generally, first category countries are more transparent.
